Best of Scotland 13 day Tour 2026 Whose Going?

Signed up for the 2026 tour and wondering if people are finding the airline prices HIGH right now. Also, is it worth taking the bus from Edinburgh to Glasgow, to make the booking of flights easier? Other questions for those who've been on this rodeo before?

-Travel Guard -Good Insurance?

Thanks,

David.

We’re doing the Best of Germany but going to Scotland the week before on our own. And yes, the flights are expensive and using google flights I’m not finding many options other than American Airlines for lower priced flights. BA looks reasonable until you add in the seat selection fee. The one pro about AA from the west coast is they stop in Philadelphia then nonstop to Edinburgh which means no Heathrow! The con is the flight is in the morning which means little or no ability to sleep for me.
And yes, I’m comparing flights into both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

My partner and I will be on the Best of Scotland tour in May. I've already purchased our flights because Delta's Premium Select generally sells fast in the Detroit market and my partner's long legs have become spoiled. We're doing 2 back to back tours just as we did this year. I'm finding that similar flights in 2026 are actually $2,000 less next year for the two of us. It was much easier pushing "purchase"!

When I took this tour in June 2024, flights from Boston were expensive ($2,000+). I booked round-trip flight to Edinburgh and took the bus to Glasgow for the start of the tour. Finding the bus was easy as the Edinburgh airport had good signage. Paid the driver for the ticket with credit card. It was a pleasant ride.

Hi David- I’m signed ip for this tour in June. I already have my flight booked. I’ll be flying in and out of Heathrow on Virgin. The airports closest to me don’t offer direct flights to Scotland, so I decided to add a couple days at the beginning of the tour to take the train from London to Glasgow. I’m looking forward to the train journey.
It sounds like the scenery will be amazing.

Not sure where you searching for flights, but IcelandAir has good connections to Glasgow and airfare is reasonable, and you can pre-select legroom seats (for extra) if that's an issue. Food service is terrible, so bring your own. Our last three trips to Glasgow (via Seattle) were on Icelandair. We did a British Air flight in Business class, but they priced us out of that option since then.

Condor round trip to Frankfurt. Lufthansa to Glasgow and return from Edinburgh. Less pricey., keep looking prices are dropping!
