We will be staying in Inverness without a car. We were planning to take the train to visit Glen Ord distillery but they will be closed in September. We are now considering the train to Benromach. Is the distillery and easy walk from the train station? Also, are there shops or restaurants within walking distance in Forres?

Yes, the distillery is a very short walk from the railway station, and Forres High Street is an equally short walk in the other direction from the station. More or less outside the station there is a Tesco superstore- a grocery store.
