Beatrix Potter Exhibition at Dunkeld

For Beatrix Potter fans- we usually associate her with the Lake District. But she spent many childhood summers in the Dunkeld and Birnam area, which became a long lasting relationship with the area.

So there is a permanent (as far as I can tell) exhibition about her at the Birnam Arts Centre- https://birnamarts.com/Beatrix-Potter

Dunkeld and Birnam are just off the A9 for anyone heading north to Inverness and beyond, and there is a Railway Station there.

I confess I knew nothing of this. I've just been told about this in an e-mail about a special package deal in June to visit it, from Strathmore Hotels- the independent group of hotels I very often use when in the Highlands.

I visited the place back in October . It's a small installation , but worth a stop , and of course Birnam , and Dunkeld are well worth wandering around The bridge built by Thomas Telford that crosses The Tay is beautiful and connects the two villages . Absolutely worth the time

My wife loved the Beatrix Potter garden in Birnam in 2022. It is very small, but lovely. We stayed in Birnam and the river walk through the ancient oaks was also gorgeous.
