We will spend two nights on the isle of Skye in August of 2017. We would love to hear your recommendations for B&Bs in Portee or with in walking distance of town. It seems like this is the best location to explore the island. Only have 2 nights there.
Thank you!!
I haven't been yet, but I'm going in September. You're smart to be planning now because I just started looking for my trip and am having a little trouble finding availability. It's there, just not in the first places I've looked.
Staying here in September. Reviews are good and she's been a dream to deal with via email.
If you can get a room, stay at the Ben Tianavaig Bed & Breakfast, it is right in Portree with great views and you can walk all over town. And the owners are just wonderful! We spent 3 weeks in the UK in May, staying in some amazing B&Bs, but The Ben Tianavaig was by far the best. and the food is great :) They made our stay on Skye so lovely, and were helpful long before we even arrived. Can't recommend them enough!
We're booked in High Beech House(overlooking the harbour)for next year and they've been very pleasant to deal with so far; can't comment on the actual stay yet.
We are staying at High Beech house this Sept.
We booked in Feb. and there was a lot of choice but do not leave it too long before you book on Skye.
We stayed two nights at lovely Milivaig B&B - http://www.milivaig-skye.co.uk/#. About 15 minutes walking from Portree (a good location) but you'll have a car so 5 minutes to town. Lovely owners, lots of convenient parking and a breakfast to die for. We really enjoyed the breakfast/guest sitting room with large TV, fire, wifi, huge picture window with great scenics. Very modern and clean. Lovely owners and full of information about Skye as they are local folks.
