All train services to and from Ayr are cancelled until at least 15 October following an arson attack on the derelict former Station Hotel on 23 September. Replacement buses are running from Prestwick Town, Kilmarnock and Girvan. This will also affect rail passengers for the Cairnryan to Belfast ferry.
All buses, including the Cairnryan ferry bus, are using the car park at Morrisons Supermarket on Castlehill Road- over the roundabout and south of the station, not the station itself.
This closure may well run significantly longer as full demolition of the hotel is expected to be inevitable- check with Scotrail for updates
