Is this a town or an area? What to do and see info.thinking of next July if it worth it.

Argyll is one of Scotland's regions, in the modern council area of Argyll and Bute. The latter includes the area to the west of Loch Lomond, the town of Inveraray, and the Kintyre peninsula as well as some of the western isles. Traditionally, Argyll is the portion north of Kintyre. Either way, it's lovely.
