My flight to Scotland will be landing in Edinburgh, and from there I'll need to get to Glasgow. I've read that the bus (CityLink) is a reliable and inexpensive way to travel - and has more departures than the train. My question is - do I need to make reservations in advance? Or can I just purchase bus tickets once I get there?

no need to book just pay the driver.the stand is a short walk from the airport exit and there will be staff around to show you the way. No point in getting the train as it takes about 30 minutes to get to the train station from the airport and it is in the opposite direction from where you want to go.
