What time of day and how long is the is the orientation tour of Inverness? What time is the Culloden tour over? Is it possible to hire a cab at the visitor center if want to see more of area and return to Inverness on our own?

You’ll need to ask the company what time the orientation tour is. As for cabs from Culloden visitor centre, there certainly won’t be taxis there just waiting for business. You could arrange one in advance. I’d suggest asking your hotel for a taxi company recommendation when you get there.

Hi Robin, If you have any specific questions about the Best of Scotland in 13 Days Tour, would probably be better off contacting the Rick Steves office. This forum is frequented by regular travelers who answer and ask questions. You might find some people here that have taken the tour before and can give you some answers, but your best bet is to just contact the office.

if you're interested in touring the area after the tour, as Skyegirl above mentioned, you would be best off talking to your tour manager or the hotel to arrange that. I would talk to the tour manager first. Regardless, it is an interesting place, and you could also visit Clava Cairns, which is about a mile away from Culloden.
