Anyone tried NY Stewart Airport stops in Faroe Islands then on to Edinburgh?

Hello!
I’m always searching for alternative airports to travel so I don’t have to bother with typical airport crowds, long lines.

As a frequent traveler from USA (New England) to Edinburgh, I am intrigued by this Atlantic Airways option. Fly to Faroe Islands then hop onto smaller jet to Edinburgh.

Anyone tried this yet?

They also fly to Keflavik.

Thanks,

I have flown on Atlantic Airways a couple of times. They own four Airbus 320's which are basically the same size as a Boeing 737.

They only fly daily from the Faroes to Copenhagen. All other destinations are once or twice a week and may be seasonal. Their planes are usually operating charters on weekends.

The NY service started August 22 and ran one day a week. The final flight was supposed to be next week but it, I believe, was cancelled.

Atlantic Airways had been talking about flying to New York prior to the pandemic. . They bought the Airbus 320 Neos for that purpose.

They were hoping people would use the service to visit the Faroes and not to make connections as there are frequent weather delays as well as infrequent service.

Service to Edinburgh is on Monday and THURSDAY.

I wonder if it would have worked from Edinburgh with a 2 night layover in the Faroes.

If you want to fly to the UK from Stewart International you could fly on Play via Keflavik to either Glasgow or Liverpool.

Glasgow would do you for Edinburgh.
