Any interesting stops Skye to Ft William?

Driving from the Skye to Fort William, and good stops along the way?

Which route are you taking? Via the bridge or the Mallaig ferry?

Via the Bridge you have Eilean Donan, and the towns of the Glen Mhor, and the Commando Memorial.

Via the Ferry, Mallaig itself, Glenfinnan viaduct and Jacobite memorial.

We will be staying in Kyleakin just into Skye. Looks like we will drive the A87 to A 82 to Fort William. We will have already seen Eilean Donan Castle on our way into Skye. We are open to suggestions if there is a better route or some must sees on our way.

Thanks for the help!

If you can do it, I would recommend one way on and off of Skye, once by the bridge, once by the ferry.

When we went to Scotland a few years ago we did it just the way MC suggested--one way by ferry, then back over the bridge. If you have the time, I recommend the short drive to Plockton near Kyle of Lochalsh. My favorite village in Scotland. Beautiful scenery and lots of hairy coos along the way. Jenny
