My husband and I will be in Scotland from May 17-29. We are very interested in the outdoors, and native birds and wildlife. Someone told me about the Aigas Field Centre and I'm wondering if anyone has any first-hand information to share. Thank you!
No firsthand experience but have looked at it a number of times as that is where some Road Scholar programs stay. The program gets great reviews but almost every one mentions the excellent Ranger/naturalist staff. The wildlife hides they have on the property look particularly interesting to me.
I have had my eye on them for years, but have not yet worked it into our trips.
Aigas. It’s ridiculously expensive and run by a very pompous man. They don’t have any availability for the time that you are there.
Speyside Wildlife and Heatherlea are other Scottish birdwatching companies. I have had a bad experience with Heatherlea birdwatching in Costa Rica.
Jennifer, thank you so much for your candid assessment. I did find their prices quite high, which is one reason I have not pursued this idea. We will strike them off the list and stick with HF Holidays, which we have enjoyed very much. Unfortunately their nature -focused program in Scotland does not match the OP's dates.
