I love tea but hubby doesn't. Does anyone have a suggestion for an afternoon tea in Edinburgh that might not be so high end (as in The Waldorf Astoria), but still enjoyable for the both of us?
The Witchery has an excellent tea and is located near the entrance to Edinburgh Castel.
He could drink coffee or prosecco as he doesn't like tea (maybe he hasn't had a proppa cuppa)

Timeout has a nice article on the afternoon tea's in Edinburgh. I clicked on it as I wondered if the Balmoral had a tea, and of course it does. https://www.timeout.com/edinburgh/restaurants/best-afternoon-tea-in-edinburgh
Thank you much!
Clarinda's Tea Room on the Royal Mile (down toward the lower end) serves nice scones with jam & cream, sandwiches, cakes and other items that make an afternoon tea. IIRC, they don't label it afternoon tea as such, but you can order the things you want.
Their Instagram page says the are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM - 4 PM.
