Looking for suggestions for places near the airport to spend our last night in Edinburgh, having an airport shuttle would be a bonus. Thank you!
I don't think I've ever stayed at a place with a shuttle. Maybe someone knows of one. The Travel Lodge gives you driving directions and says you are five minutes from the airport. The Doubletree says that it's a ten-minute walk from the airport. And the Ibis refers you to a tram stop. Personally, I stay in town and either take the tram or bus into the airport or pop for a taxi. It looks like it's about 20 GBP for the 20-minute ride. It might be more at rush hour. I always want my full time in Edinburgh and I see enough of airport hotels in the US. :)
what time is your flight ?, a taxi from the city centre only takes around 30 minutes as does the tram or the airport bus. Unless you have a very early flight you are probably better off staying in the actual city.
We will be dropping our rental car off the evening before our flight, so we’d like to stay nearby rather than cab into town and back the next morning. The chain hotels are fine, but we’d rather enjoy our last night in Scotland somewhere more fun and local. I thought this would be easier, we had reservations at Norton House, but when our flight changed it no longer worked. Thanks for suggestions!
My most recent trip was three years ago. The Doubletree used to be part of the airport shuttle service. And I think the Holiday Inn Express May offer a shuttle. Check the two websites.
