Accommodations near University of Glasgow.

Looking for recommendations for accommodations while visiting my daughter that attends UoG. Never have been before. I will be there fro 1/5-1/12. Thanks for any help!

Not as of yet. She is finishing up her semester and getting ready to head home. Just figured I’d get ahead of things….

One thing you could do is to pull up the University of Glasgow on Google Maps (or click on this link). Once it's open, go to the left hand column, click "Nearby" and key in "hotels" into the search box. This will show you many of the hotels (with their approximate prices) in this area. You can then plug your dates in and it will show you the hotels' availability. You can also use the slider to limit a price point.

I realize there is nothing like recommendations from others, but this way you can narrow down some choices and then check back here to see if anyone is familiar with them, or check the Google reviews (I do that a lot and generally find them fairly accurate).

We spent two nights in June 2022 at the Alamo Guest House. www.alamoguesthouse.com
We stayed in Room 1 and we're very pleased. Great Scottish breakfast included. Highly recommend!!!
It's a short walk to the University. Also close to amazing eating establishments.

The university is linked to the city centre by the Subway, aka the Clockwork Orange. It is a quick and reliable link, so may be a hotel near its stations in the centre.

Our daughter is attending grad school this year at UofG this year. We visited her for 10 days in Oct. She is staying in grad school international housing on Kelvinhaugh St.

We stayed at the Kelvingrove hotel on Sauciehall St. Not fancy but clean and so convenient! About 1/4 mile from her dorm, easy walk to the Uni, a block from Kelvingrove Park, right on bus line that goes to central Glasgow, lots of restaurants in the area and on Argyle St.
