Heart of Scotland Tour review
We just completed a wonderful private tour with Heart of Scotland. It’s incredible to do business with a company that does exactly as it advertises, has a heart. I can’t express how much the 4 of us enjoyed our tour with Heart of Scotland…. They made sure that we experienced Scotland, not just saw it.
Heart of Scotland is a local company with extraordinary employees. Our guide, Roddy, made us feel like he was a close friend who was showing us his country. He went out of his way to help us savor every sight, appreciate the history and, with a gleam in his eye, make the most out of every special moment. And he did it with such heart. We will never forget how we felt when on our tour.
Examples of his going above and beyond were finding a wonderful place to hand feed Highland cows (hairy coos) and he bought us fresh-from-the-farm strawberries and raspberries so that we could enjoy delicious summer local fruit. He took us taking us on a tiny ferry (2 cars) the back route to Skye where we saw seals and an eagle and then we pulled off the road upon arriving at Skye with a wee dram he had brought…as he read us a beautiful Scottish toast about Skye. Or the time he took us to a tiny place/shed that served beautiful seafood right from the sea (the best fresh oysters we’ve ever had). I could name lots of other instances, but you get the idea.
When I was booking our tour I considered other tour companies, but something told me that Heart of Scotland would be extra special. And with the 4 of us, a private tour (5 days/4 nights) was reasonable and gave us the flexibility to go off the beaten path and also customize our time in the Highlands as well as Skye.
We highly recommend booking a day trip, a small group tour or a private tour with Heart of Scotland. And if you can, as for Roddy.
