4 full days only - Advice?

We arrive around bed time (in time for a pub?) on June 18th. We depart the morning of June 23rd. 4 full days.

So far we have 2 nights reserved in Glasgow, one night not reserved yet, two nights reserved in Edinburgh.

For the 2 days based in Glasgow: maybe one day trip north to see the highlands and one day in Glasgow?
For the 2 days based in Edinburgh: one day in Edinburgh, 1/2 - 3/4 day in St. Andrews?
Would like to squeeze in Stirling?

We like to see landscape, landmarks, local favorites, history for sure, but not ALL day inside of a museum. We also like non-touristy experiences. I wish we had more days, and I know some will say we are trying to fit too much in, so I get it. This first time to Scotland will be a "hit the highlights" trip. Thank you so much!

**I had to repost this because I couldn't edit the error in the title which said "leaving on the 22nd." For those who replied to the first post and pointed that out - thank you!!!

Stirling is an easy day trip from Glasgow and Edinburgh, but St. Andrews would be better from Edinburgh, so I would take the day trip to Stirling from Glasgow. It's quick and easy—you just get the train at the Queen Street station and gets you to Stirling in no time.

For your other trips, you might want to take a look at Rabbies Tours. They come highly recommended on this forum, and they have a wide variety of day tours. Their tours leave from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, so you would have many good choices. https://www.rabbies.com/en

We took a one day Rabbies tour from Glasgow. I highly recommend it. I think it was Loch Lomond and the HIghlands.

I did a day trip out of Glasgow that went to Stirling and Loch Lomond with the option to take a boat tour on the lake. With just one day in Glasgow maybe just hit the Kelvingrove museum, then use the HOHO bus for the rest of the day to see the sights around the city. For Edinburgh, spend the whole two days there, there is a lot to see, and it will likely take one whole day just to cover what’s on the royal mile. Then there are many other options around the city such as the royal yacht Britannia or hiking up to Arthur’s seat. St. Andrews is a long way to go just to see a small town, pretty as it is.
