My family and I had an exceptional stay at 23 Mayfield Guest House, an upscale B&B in Edinburgh run by the charming and sophisticated duo, Ross and Kathleen. The spacious rooms, impeccable decor, and pristine cleanliness of the home created an inviting and luxurious atmosphere. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the breakfast – hands down the most delicious and memorable I’ve enjoyed in years.
I highly recommend taking a moment to chat with Ross. His family operates one of the few remaining independent B&Bs in Edinburgh, and his wealth of knowledge about local history, must-visit attractions, and top-notch restaurants and pubs is invaluable. His insights not only enhance your trip but also support the local economy. Choosing to stay here over redeeming hotel chain points was a decision we’re thrilled we made – a sentiment echoed by Rick Steves’ spot-on recommendation.

My husband and I stayed at 23 Mayfield back in 2017 and the memory of that warm and inviting bed and breakfast has stayed with us. Breakfast there spoiled us for the sad breakfasts offered at other B&Bs . A true gem and glad to know that Ross is doing well! Highly recommend this wonderful location.
