14 Days Scotland and Ireland

Hello,

My finance and I are planning to spend our late September 2016 honeymoon in Scotland and Ireland and looking for suggestions on how to break up the trip. I have been to Ireland twice before and want to show him Dublin and the West Coast. We have never travelled to Scotland would it be best to fly into Edinburgh spending a few days there, and Glasgow then head to Northern Ireland/Dublin? What is the best way to travel from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Belfast or Dublin? Would it be a better option to travel Irelands west coast and end in Dublin, flying home from there? I appreciate any guidance.

Where are you starting from? Do you have airline loyalty? Will you be driving in Scotland and/or Ireland or will you be using public transportation? Your last question totally omits Scotland - are you committed to both (I would be!)? Contrary to you post title It seems you're saying Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Is this correct? With a bit more information I'm sure you'll get plenty of great guidance.

Flying is the quickest way between Scotland and Ireland and a number of airlines serve several routes. A quick search gives these -

Aberdeen - Dublin, Belfast
Edinburgh - Belfast, Cork, Dublin, Shannon, Knock
Glasgow - Belfast, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Derry
Inverness - Belfast, Dublin

I doubt it matters whether you do Scotland or Ireland first - look on a map and plan a route!
