I am going to Edinburgh with my daughter I mid April. We like to walk. In addition to Victorian townhouse can anyone recommend where to stay. Additionally, we are training it to to Birmingham, any suggestions on that and where to stay in Birmingham. Linda K
I stayed at the Kingsway Guesthouse and loved it. It was about a 15 minute walk from the Royal Mile, closer to Holyrood Park if you want to do an Arthur's seat hike. There are a lot of B&Bs in that general vicinity that all get pretty good reviews. They are cheaper too.
I've stayed at the Inverleith Hotel near the Royal Botanic Gardens. You're close to the Leith Water walk, the Gardens and it's a nice walk up to Prince's Street. I like it because it's not in center of all the tourists, but is close enough to get their quickly by bus or a short walk.
