1 Day tours out of Inverness that include Culloden

Hello all!

Arriving Edinburgh on Sept 18th, 2 nights there and then taking the train up to Inverness. 2 nights in Inverness. Culloden visit is a must (was there back in 2011), maybe a distillery visit and just tootling around with the remaining time we have. We were going to rent a car in Inverness, but it's about $500 for the two day rental. We'll be on the west coast of Ireland for two weeks after our Scotland leg and will be driving all over while there. Given that we will be doing so much driving in Ireland, we are considering ditching the idea of renting a car in Inverness and joining up with a day tour out of Inverness. Any recommendations on tour companies that go with smaller groups out of Inverness and would include Culloden?

Thank you!

Thank you Linda! But unfortunately, they must be fully booked the one full day we will be up in the Inverness area. Otherwise, it would have fit the bill quite nicely.

There is a company called Highland Explorer Tours who do a Loch Ness, Whisky and Outlander Tour on midibuses- which includes Culloden and Clava- runs on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Among other tours they also do a Moray Coast, Puffins and Speyside Whisky- which includes Findhorn, Portknocie and Bow Fiddle, Cullen and Troup Head (although you'd be too late for the puffins there), so is a bit different to the well worn standard fare out of Inverness.

There is also an hourly service bus to Culloden Battlefield from the centre of Inverness.
