Tigerlily or Ibis Styles St Andrew Square?

Hi all- trying to decide between these two for a 3 night stay in October on a Sunday- Tuesday Has anyone got a recent report on either? I’ve read some club noise at Tigerlily but they’ve assured us they’d situate us on the top floor. Better breakfast at one or the other? Tigerlily seems very style forward decorated, both seem well placed for sightseeing. It is our first trip to Edinburgh. Thanks!

I stayed at the Ibis Styles in 2023. I liked it very much. The breakfast was excellent, it was very quiet, and the location ideal. Only negative was that the room was quite small, but since I was traveling solo, this wasn't a problem for me.

The Ibis has gotten very good reviews here on the forum. I haven't stayed there but was inside the lobby when I met up with Lane (above) and loved the colorful murals and decor. There have been other good reviews of it here (see links below). I plan on staying there my next trip to Edinburgh.

Here are a couple of other threads that mention the Ibis:

We stayed at the Tigerlily in September 2023. I was also concerned about the club noise. We were there on on a Monday and Tuesday night. We had 2 rooms and none of us heard a sound. We booked at a great b & b rate and the breakfast was delicious. Wonderful in room amenities. The hotel bar and lobby are very instagramable.

I stayed at the Ibis Styles in June on Mardee’s recommendation from when she met up with Lane (😂😂). Thank you Lane!

I liked it a lot and would stay there next time. I also agree the room was pretty small but as a solo it didn’t bother me. The breakfast spread was excellent and this is from a non-breakfast person, lol. This vegan had salmon and scrambled eggs that first morning and it was delish!

Staff was very nice. I’d somehow gotten from the Accor website onto a 3rd party booker site. I realized it when I was immediately billed for the room plus 399£ for fees. Communicated with the Ibis front desk via email and canceled that reservation with all money refunded. Rebooked via the Accor app so make sure you are on the official website to book.

I stayed at another hotel for a few days at the end of my trip and preferred the Ibis due to location and a fully functional elevator!

Have not stayed at Tigerlily.

We stayed at the Tigerlily last September. The lounge and restaurant are certainly lively, but in an enjoyable way. I too was concerned that we might have a noise problem, but our room was very quiet. Staff were all friendly and helpful and it was an easy walk to the bus stops.
