Review of Scotland 13 day Tour

I am planning on taking my first Rick Steve’s tour this summer with a friend. We will be sharing a room. Would someone please give me a review of this tour and recommendations? I am wondering about comfort of sleeping. There are 2 separate beds available, correct? Any other comments or concerns positive and negative would be appreciated.
Thank you.

You are able to specify to the tour company how you'd like your room set up, either one or two beds.

We took the shorter Scotland tour and enjoyed it thoroughly. Have fun!

I think OP is talking about the Rick Steves Scotland in 13 days tour. Yes, you specify that you are sharing with another person and you want twin beds. IF that is not the case when you get to a hotel room, IMMEDIATELY contact the front desk and your guide to get it remedied.

I will add that I always pay for a solo supplement so do not have personal experience although I was on a tour where 2 friends wound up in a room with one bed (It was not in Scotland) and the hotel immediately remade the room with separate beds.

I do recommend you have a waterproof rain jacket with a hood. Scotland can be rainy and it's better to go prepared. An umbrella will just turn inside out immediately with the wind!

Here is a link to my old Trip Report. It was 2018 and the itinerary has changed, going the other direction, lol. As far as I can tell the tours no longer stay at the Brooks Hotel in Edinburgh so not to worry about my negative remarks on this hotel.

Yes, you specify in your RS documentation that you require separate twin beds and that your relationship is friends. We've been on 3 RS tours and there are lots of friend combos on every trip. Or sisters...etc. Enjoy!

Yes! Pam is absolutely right. Don't go without proper rain gear.
