We have just finished an excellent stay at this hotel. It has a moderate cost, is clean, and well located. The air conditioning has been appreciated this week! The restaurant is good and the staff friendly. Our 4th floor room had an expansive view of the city and the harbor. It is close to the main attractions without being in the mobs on Princes Street or the Royal Mile.
The location is particularly convenient for those taking public transport. The tram from the airport literally stops at the front door. The bus station is one block away and the train station 4 blocks away. A helpful tip for those arriving by train with luggage is to get off at Haymarket Station, walk outside and board the tram for the last few stops to the hotel. You won't even need to walk the 4 blocks then.
There are many shops and restaurants nearby. 15 minute walk to the castle. 5 minutes to Princes street and 10 minutes to the Royal Mile. I would stay here again cheerfully.
