I know the west end of Glasgow has many restaurants but we are staying nearer to the cathedral and Barras market. Any recommendations on places to eat? Adventurous eaters who don’t want American food. We get that at home :)
Thank you!
It's over 20 years since I've been there, but we talked about it on here recently; Rab Ha's. Very high quality Scottish - produce orientated menu I believe. It's years since I've been, but they still get good reviews.
Pronounced "Rab Haw" btw. "The Glesga Glutton".

I'd also mention Mono, just the other side of Trongate. That's probably one of the best vegan menus in Glasgow. Its sister shop is Monorail, a record store run by a guy called Stephen Pastel, who I used to buy records from 25 years ago.
My sister and I had a delightful meal at Santa Lucia Merchant City last spring. I wouldn’t call the menu adventurous, but it’s modern Italian cuisine, well executed and elegantly presented. Good service and a festive atmosphere, too.
Again, years since I've been there, and just for drinks, but The Corinthian Club is one of the finest interiors in Glasgow and worth visiting for that alone.

Cafe Gandolfi is an old Glasgow institution. Again I'm going back a bit.
You'd need to ask someone else about more recent openings. All those place I've mentioned have been going for years and still should be of a good quality though.
