June 2024 Scotland Trip

I thought I would share our thoughts on some of the places we stayed and restaurants we enjoyed during our June trip. There were 5 of us so everywhere we stayed either had a family room that slept 3 people or we were able to get a good price on three rooms. Our favorite place was Tirindish House in Spean Bridge, near Ft. William. It is a beautiful, historic property with large rooms and massive bathrooms. The owners were very nice and breakfast was incredible with freshly made croissants and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon! They recommended The Whispering Pine Lodge on Loch Lochy for dinner. They do a mix of Indian and seafood with beautiful views of the loch from the restaurant. On Skye we stayed at Loch Eyre House, about halfway between Uig and Portree. The location worked great for getting an early start to the Quiraing. They have an incredible view of the loch from a really nice lounge area and some rooms face the loch with small outdoor patios. We stayed and ate at the Argyll Lodge on Iona and really enjoyed it. They have a great outdoor sitting area on the water overlooking Mull and Iona harbor- great place to enjoy a drink.
We enjoyed our dinners at Stein Inn and the wood fired pizza at Caberfeidh in Portree. We also stayed at Western Isles Hotel in Tobermory (very limited parking), Rosemont Hotel in Pitlochry, and 22 Chester Street in Edinburgh- all of them were fine but nothing special. Kilchrenan House in Oban was one of our favorite places to stay with good sized rooms and a large bathroom. We also enjoyed meals at Old Mill and Auld Smiddy in Pitlochry, Ee Usk in Oban, Teutchers in Edinburgh, and No. 2 Baker Street in Stirling.

Thanks for this review. We are planning to spend 14 days in Scotland in September going to some of the places you mentioned. We are going to Pitlochry for their Highland Games on Sept 14th.
