Inverarary Restaurants

Hello, our itinerary brings us to Inveraray (rhyming unplanned) on my significant other's birthday. I'd like to treat him to a special dinner and noticed the Inver Restaurant on the east cost of Loch Fyne. We're also considering Samphire and the George Hotel. We'd love to try the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar but they close at 5:00. Any recommendations from you are greatly appreciated!

We've booked a stay at Rudha-na-Craige.

Both Samphire and the George are in the middle of Inveraray town with no view but housed in historic buildings; the hotel Inver is approx. a 10 mile drive along a narrow Loch side road, but looks as if it might have nice views over the Loch. Your hotel appears to have stunning Loch views so I think in your situation, I would probably choose Samphire. The George is more of a pub dining room than a restaurant though the menu looks to be more than pub grub. The area is noted for its seafood and I’d suggest the langoustines - yummie!

You could try the Loch Fine Oyster bar for lunch or stop thereto buy some of their delicious smoked salmon fora picnic lunch the next day. It was a favourite place to go for lunch when visiting my parents who lived nearby.
