We are looking for a clean hotel in Glasgow and I'm overwhelmed with the choices. As we are just there for 2 1/2 days I think we are best to be in Glasgow City?? Looking for 2 twin beds preferably as it's for my daughter and myself .... I do see some showing as big double - not sure what that means but I know that a Canadian sized double bed would be too small for both of us. And something really close to transit - trains and buses including Hop On Hop Off Bus and local attractions including Rick Steve's recommended the Style Miles Alleys and other main attractions. I'm not looking for fancy or expensive just clean and preferably with breakfast included. Thanks so much for any recommendations you can offer! Naomi

I really liked Grasshoppers Hotel, which sits right on top of Central Train Station. A fellow Forum member recommended it. It is simple, bright and clean. Doesn't look so great from the outside — you enter into a regular building and then the hotel is on an upper floor of the building. Good value for cost, I found.

We also endorse the Grasshopper ( maybe it was my recommendation that Kim saw?).
The location is perfect, breakfast is included, and they do have twin-bedded rooms.

Another vote for Grasshoppers. It was a perfect location; the staff was friendly. Our train left later in the day, and we were able to leave our luggage there while we explored the city. Our room looked out over the train station roofs, but noise was not a problem.

I've just booked Grasshoppers as well! My adult children and I are visiting for the World Championships of Bagpiping in August, on Glasgow Green, and this place looks perfect for us. Thank you!

Just a note if you are booking morning bus tours and want breakfast before you go ... Breakfast start and end times vary on weekdays vs weekends. You may wish to check the times before booking a bus tour.

Just stayed at the Grasshopper Hotel ...thank you so much to those who recommended it!!! We were so very happy there and would return in a heartbeat! Everything was perfect ...spotless room..super convenient location... warm, welcoming and helpful staff, and the treats in the lobby are mouthwatering! They have the best quality breakfast we've had in all our travels! Highly recommend the weekday dinner ...for 16 pounds we enjoyed the most delicious roast beef dinner including dessert!
