This is a fantastic hotel located on the shores of Loch Sheil in Glenfinnan. It has it's own restaurant and bar and the staff is polite, courteous and extremely professional. The rooms were clean and bright, and the beds extremely comfortable. The bathroom was clean and roomy. The common area was warm and accommodating and made you feel that you were staying in a stately home. The breakfast was fantastic and there were many plates to choose from. The dinner was superb and lounge area was cozy, allowing you to gaze out over the Loch. Our bartender was wonderful and provided us with a lot of information about the area, and whiskey! This is a great place to meet locals and hear good stories. They often have live music and on the night I stayed I was treated to wonderful sounds! I hope to visit Scotland again soon, and I will make it a point to go back and stay here. Also, if you're at the lounge in the evening, look for Joe and make sure to see the loch via his boat. You might even ask him for a song, as he has a beautiful voice!
This should be a hotel/restaurant listed in your book Mr. Steves. It is certainly a gem hiding in the Scottish countryside!
