Looking for dinner recommendations in Edinburgh, St. Andrews, and Inverness. Thank you, fellow travelers.
We really enjoyed Howie’s on Victoria Street in Edinburgh. Great meal and service. You may want to reserve ahead depending on when you’re going.
It's been a couple years, but we also enjoyed Howie's in Edinburgh. We dined at the Waterloo location.
Also in Edinburgh, our table of 4 enjoyed our meal at Makers Mash. The slow cooked lamb shank was melt in the mouth tender.
In St. Andrews we had a very nice dinner at Forgan's on Market Street.
Inverness - McBain's - we had a wonderful lunch there. MacGregor's - good pub food and fantastic live music every evening, we ate there 3 times!
St. Andrews - had a good lunch at the Tailed
Edinburgh - ate 3 times at Petit Paris on Grassmarket, wonderful French food, unpretentious!
We had a great lunch at the Criterion Bar in St. Andrews. One of their specialties is pot pies (“Cri pies”); I had the chicken and it was delicious. My husband had excellent fish and chips.
