I stayed at the Ben Nevis Guest House in Fort William the nights of 23-24 August, 2023. The house is very comfortable, seems brand new, and the appearance is charming. The hosts were the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in several years, going out of their way to be sure I was comfortable and my needs were met. I enjoyed the little touches. They have a Scottie dog, and they put a little stuffed Scottie on each bed next to the pillows. There are Scottie plates and other Scottie nicknacks in the glass-enclosed breakfast room. I had to leave early and they made up a bag breakfast and put it in the community frig for me, and wrote a friendly note and did a cute drawing on the bag. The house is about a mile northeast of the train station on Glen Nevis, about a 15 minute walk or a short taxi/Uber ride from the station.
We stayed at the Ben Nevis Guest House Sept 27-29 2023. I chose it because of its location and price. It was an easy walk or taxi ride to the bus/train station, yet not smack in the center of town. As stated, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, and have a supply of hiking poles that you can use while you are hiking in the area. We did Steahl Falls, and then took a day trip to Glencoe and did some hiking there as well. Very pleasant stay. One of our rooms had a bath tub, which was a treat to soak in after returning from our hikes. Would definitely recommend.
