My adult daughter and I stayed two nights at Beechwood Cottage B&B in Glencoe in May. This is a Rick Steves recommended property. Unfortunately, our experience was very unpleasant and I cannot recommend this B&B. The issue stems from the attitude of the host (the husband) who is very controlling and felt free to criticize several of the choices we made during our stay. I don't want to go into details because it is upsetting to think about, but I urge you to read the Google and/or the Trip Advisor reviews. You will notice that there are many 5/5 reviews with glowing remarks, but every once in a while you will find a negative review. What is remarkable is that EVERY ONE of the negative reviews, although left by different people at different times, all say essentially the same thing. They all point to the male host and his controlling behaviours. In our case, we were so unhappy that we went out of our way to stay away from the B&B and the experience has negatively affected my memories of Glen Coe Valley.
We ate one evening at The Clachaig Inn and I wish I had spent the extra money to have stayed there.
