TJ Travel - St. Petersburg

We recently took a Baltic Cruise on RCCL. We had two days (a Sunday and a Monday) in St. Petersburg right before the semi-finals of the World Cup. Based on reviews found here and on Cruise Critic we booked with TJ Travel. We were very, very happy with our decision.

First, communication with the company was always very quick and friendly. We needed to be accommodated for a gluten-free meal for one family member. They assured me that this would not be a problem. It wasn't. I did speak with our tour guide each day regarding this need, but she was prepared and ready to discuss it with the staff at the two restaurants we visited. The wait staff handled our requests easily.

Our guide, Elena, was top-notch. Her knowledge was extensive and thorough. She took us through the two days with grace and enthusiasm. We were delighted that despite the Hermitage typically being closed on Mondays, TJ Travel had made arrangements (along with some other groups) for us to visit that day. While there were plenty of people touring that day, it was not uncomfortably crowded. We spoke with some of the people who had taken the ship tour. They had visited the Hermitage on Sunday and had found it unbearably crowded.

Additionally, the offered lower (student) pricing for my children. Since I had joined the Cruise Critic Roll-Call for our sailing, we were also able to get a Cruise Critic discount, furthering lowering the price. I, of course, was thrilled with the additional savings.

Overall, we were very pleased with our experience. I recommend that you check out TJ Travel when you are planning to be in St. Petersburg. They offer a variety of tours.
