Looking for another hotel in Tallinn

Any recommendations on Tallinn hotels that are near the tour's My City Hotel? My City is already booked for the two days prior to our tour's start date. Thanks.

In 2016, I stayed at the Hotel Imperial, which isn't directly by your hotel but only a 6 min (500 meter) walk away according to Google Maps. That would be close enough for me, but I'm sure some people with bags just don't want to cart them that far. I thought the Imperial was great - also well located close to the upper town (near the steps to go straight up to the viewpoints). You might consider that despite the hassle of moving further way, you might enjoy staying in a different part of town (albeit in the tiny old town of Tallinn, nothing is too far apart).

Have you considered visiting somewhere else in Estonia instead of two more nights in Tallinn? (Lovely town but not very big.) I had wanted to visit the city of Tartu but just didn't have enough time.

Try the Savoy Boutique Hotel, as it's close by. Not very expensive and gets great ratings.

Seconding the recommendation of the Savoy—great location and breakfast. I’m returning to Tallinn next May and it was booked so instead I will be at the Von Stackelberg.

In 2018, I stayed at Hotel Telegraaf, located in an old post office/telegraph office. I loved it. Great breakfast. Excellent (but pricey) Russian restaurant. It's a 5-minute walk from My City Hotel, per Google Maps.

If I were to stay in a Sokos hotel, I would go for Hotel Viru, the old communist showplace hotel, which has a fun KGB tour that describes how visitors to the hotel were monitored (visitors can do the tour even if not a hotel guest). The tour also takes you to the top floor of the hotel, which has great views over Tallinn. Photograph hint: go down one floor and walk out on the smoking balcony for stunning views of the Old Town.

Dave , the Estoria Hotel I mentioned is actually attached to the Viru . I chose it because being somewhat smaller , it has a separate breakfast room from the Viru which is less crowded , which was very pleasant . Also , the more recent construction is of unadulterated concrete with no embedded microphones ( microcement ) ;--)
