I am traveling on a river cruise from LED to SVO...doing my own travel flights and transfers. I want to make sure there will be taxis at the North River Port early ...5am to take me to SVO airport....

North River Port is a bit away from the road and far from the centre. It is not the place where you can hail a taxi on the street.
It is better to prebook a transfer. At 5 am there is no traffic in Moscow, you will be at SVO airport by 5:30 am. Here is one of Moscow transfer service companies http://www.youarewelcome.su. They speak english and offer good rates.

I don't trust taxis in Moscow. They could skin you. We prearranged through http://www.expresstorussia.com
alankairov is right. North Port is at least 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Metro Station (it's the end station) so it takes a long time to get to the center. The road is even little farther than Metro and I don't think you would be able to hail taxi there.
