any suggestions and prices for , Matryoshka (nesting dolls), chess sets, amber items in St Peteresburg

We bought inexpensive (about $5 a set) nesting dolls at the souvenir stands around the Church of Spilled Blood. I'm sure you can find nicer nesting dolls, etc. in the shops along Nevsky Pospekt. The Hermitage gift shop also should have them

Souvenirs at trendy spots such as Hermitage and Nevsky prospect are more expensive (it's obvious). So if you want to buy for a cheaper price you can try to find a hidden gift shop on one of the smaller streets (they do exist but I don't remember exact location).
Price will depends on size of Matryoshka's (smaller ones are $20, bigger ones are more expensive and they can cost well over $100).
