Dear all,
I’m supposed to be in Moscow at the end of June for an academic conference (Yes, I know, we will see if this actually happens.), and I was wondering if anyone has any lodging recommendations for the center of Moscow? Ideally, I’m looking for some sort of family-run b&b.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Not a B&B, but I have stayed at the Grada Boutique Hotel for business, right behind the Bolshoy, which was super central and good value, less than $100/night
I have also stayed at some of the historic 5-star hotels (National, Metropol; Savoy is also on my radar but not been there yet): I appreciate that this is not at all what you are asking for, but it is worth considering, because world metropolises where you can stay in such fancy, historic hotels for $200/night (a bit more for Metropol perhaps) are few and far between. Of course, the appropriateness of this depends on if this is on an academic budget or with your own money.
