Looking for advice on visiting the wine country near/outside of Lisbon for a day trip...staying in Lisbon 4.5 days before going to Faial. Are there any tour companies that are recommended. Interested in Port and potentially Green Wine.
You won’t find port or vinho verde in the Lisbon area. They are both from the northern part of Portugal.
There is lots of wine in the Lisbon area, just not the two you mention. You might google ‘winery visits from Lisbon’ or something similar to get some companies. Or, Trip Advisor is usually good for tours.
We are doing a trip to Portugal / Spain and part of our trip is a walking tour in the Serra Arrabida area South of Lisbon. There are some quintas in the area, especially around Azeitão. Setubal (our first stop on the walking tour) is a 1.5 hour bus trip from Lisbon, and can be done as a day trip. I am not sure, but Azeitao might also be a day trip possibility?
Colares, region near Sintra, is one of my favourite wines. I found a tour (herebelow) to this region and the neighbours Carcavelos and Bucelas. I just think the price is stupid. But if you search the net maybe you can find something more interesting in these regions.

Thank you for the responses. We have decided to take a day trip from Lisbon to Porto with Tours by Jorge. We will be going on July 20th. Will let you all know how it turns out!
Curious about how this goes! Porto seems far for a day trip.
