On the advice of a few nice US expats, we ventured north from Porto for the day to visit the Bom Jesus in Braga. We made a stop in Guimareas (lovely!) and made it to the church a few hours before sunset. It was amazing and the grounds and views absolutely breathtaking. Highly recommend going and that this be added to the guidebook!
