Where to Stay in Porto around Thanksgiving

Hi All,

This is very last minute and perhaps covering ground that's been covered here many times, but can anyone offer any advice about what neighborhoods to stay at in Porto during the low season? It seems like there are a decent number of hotel/apartments available around the Ribeira but I don't want to stay in an area that is overly touristy. I understand Porto is quite small, so is there an area that's convenient but also ever slightly off the beaten path?

Thanks,

Y

We stayed at NH Porto Jardim recently and liked the location. It was away from the tourist center yet close enough to walk to all the main sights. From it we walked everywhere. I’m not sure what neighborhood it’s in.

If you are a walker or enjoy walking, I think you can walk all through central Porto. We stayed in the Moov Hotel in the centre of Porto (not the one in north Porto) and really enjoyed it. We walked everywhere and did not use any public transit after we checked in at our hotel.

I liked the Vitoria neighborhood. It is part of the UNESCO world heritage area, not too touristy (in my view), walkable to many places. I stayed at Maison Nos b&b but there are a number of other b&b options.
