Greetings all,
My wife and I plan on staying in Porto for 7-10 days in May 2019 and wondering which area is a good area to stay.
We like staying in "Old Town" areas, and like to walk around and/or catch public transport to see the sites.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Personally, I prefer staying in Gaia, across the river; that way I can have (in my opinion) the best view, which is looking AT Porto, rather than from it.

Ask for top floor, river view.
It is also mere steps away from the majority of the Port cellars, if that appeals to you.
One caveat, it is 5 floors and they still haven't finished the lift, so if that is an issue, I'd look elsewhere.
Check where the RS Portugal tour stays. Their choices are usually user-friendly.
