Hi!
My aunt is taking me to Portugal in May. It will be my first time. We will fly in to Lisbon ( coming from San Francisco ) she wants to see Sintra and Cascais , and we were looking for another place to stay, maybe a few days in each , somewhere no more then two hours from Lisbon and we’d like to stay in the coast. We like to hike, walk, people watch , and see small towns or villiages that aren’t super touristy. I am looking on a map and am not sure of some good choices. I see Peniche which looks pretty not sure what if anything there is to do.? Thank Any ideas would be appreciated. I am 49 and my aunt is 69. We are both active

Sao Martinho do Porto is a good base if you have a car. Beautiful bay, lots of restaurants to choose from, local market & a large Intermarche supermarket. We day tripped from Peniche to Coimbra and Tomar.
An alternative would be to train to Porto from Lisbon & fly home from there. The 2 cities are very different.
