What to pack

My husband and I are traveling to Portugal April 8. Will be there for 3 days. Any suggestions what to pack clothing wise?

Where in Portugal? It makes quite a difference to the weather.

The Algarve has been very warm this week according to some friends I have there - mid 20s, but the forecast for this coming week is cooler and wetter. Check the IPMA.pt website for a forecast for wherever you are visiting.

It is always much cooler in the evening - you will need something warm if you are going out for dinner. Daytime could be shorts weather, but it’s borderline, as the wind always makes it feel cooler. Pack layers and some good waterproof shoes if you are going to be doing lots of walking.

Where in Portugal? We were in Lisbon last April for 5 nights towards the end of the month. Weather was perfect for sightseeing. The day we arrived it was in the 60's and overcast. The rest of our visit it was in the 70's and sunny. I brought long slacks (jeans and a bit dressier), one pair of capris, and short sleeved and 3/4 sleeved tops. I also wore a spring coat. Hope this helps.

I would pack for flexibility. We were there in June and had some cool, breezy days when I was glad I'd brought a windbreaker, long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Other days were very warm and we wore shorts. As other posters indicate, it does depend on where you are going. It's not too soon to check the weather forecast … we found predictions to be nearly spot on.
