What to do at end of RS Portugal tour

I will be going with my girlfriend on the RS Portugal tour in May '26. We plan on going 2 days early and stay at the same hotel the tour starts at. It looks like a great location. We are flying from the West Coast.
The tour ends in Porto. I am not sure what most people to after the tour ends. Do you fly from Porto, or go back to Lisbon to fly home. If you do go back to Lisbon, what is the most efficient way to do that.
Any advice and ideas would be appreciated because we have not yet made our flight plans yet.
Thanks so much,
D. Ross

You can fly out of Porto or take the train back to Lisbon. I guess it depends on what you want to do and the best flights back to the US. Our beginning hotel was centrally located but a bit in a seedy section of town. We walked in groups back to it at night after our group dinner.

I’d check to see what your flight options are out of both Porto and Lisbon. On my trip, some people flew out of Porto and some took the train to Lisbon and stayed a night or two before flying home.

We're flying back to Seattle from Porto at the end of this tour in Sept on United with a layover in Newark. It seemed like the most efficient way, especially since I have to get back for a wedding.

Just wrapped up our tour. We had one person train to Lisbon, one couple rent a car for more touring, and everyone else flew out of Porto. We flew from Porto to the Azores for a few days before taking a direct flight to Boston.

We are looking to book our flights to the Portugal tour and TAP was our option, then I just read that it might be partially for sale soon, would that screw us up if we bought round trip tickets on that airline?

I don't believe so. The Portuguese government will still keep the majority share and I can't see them willing to allow the buyer to make major changes to harm their reputation, which cancelled flights would do. Lisbon and Porto are their hubs.
