Planning a trip for March 12-23 2018. Planning on Lisbon, Sintra, Nazare, Coimba and Evora. How is the weather? Not looking for beach weather but it is warm enough to enjoy the sights? Thanks
Hi georgeson. If you look at web site weatherbase.com, it will show you average high and low temps, rainfall, etc. for any city in the world for each month. Enjoy your trip!
Especially in shoulder season, I like to look at actual day-by-day or hour-by-hour temperatures rather than monthly averages. For that, I go to wunderground.com, select History, then Monthly. Wunderground has 15 or 20 years' worth of data for many places, which will give you an idea of the extremes you might experience. I've linked to the March 2017 data for Lisbon, which doesn't look bad at all (but check other years to be sure). It actually looks quite a lot like what I encountered in London last year in early September.
March weather can be great - or pretty bad! March is supposed to be pretty wet and cool, but last year there was less rain. The good news is that even with rain in the forecast, it rarely rains all day. It’s typical for rain to last a few minutes at a time, even though it can rain several times in a day. And, depending on where you are from, the temperatures might be really nice for you, since it really doesn’t get all that cold - with many winter temps in the high 50’s and 60’s.
Yes, it’s definitely warm enough to enjoy the sites.
Thanks for the responses
