I am flying to Lisbon on November 23rd but now I learned that there was a very bad storm Claudia in Europe and there are some flooding in Lisbon. And I thought that worst scenario we can drive to Seville, Spain and spend the time in Seville and around towns. Even visiting Giblartar. And now I’m checking the weather it’s rainy all over, cold and very short days. (Sunset 5:45 pm). Thinking of canceling the trip.
I will appreciate and advise or idea. Or just a fresh information regarding the situation in Lisbon and Seville. Thank you
You need to do some research, or should have done some research. The storm is gone and while there was some flooding in the Lisbon area, I didn’t see any reports stating there was flooding in Lisbon itself. The weather apps I’ve looked at are not showing much rain at all for the next couple weeks.
The temperatures are showing highs in the uppers 50s and lower 60s with lows in the low 50s for the next couple weeks. Anybody traveling in November should have known the temperatures would be chilly with fewer daylight hours.
If you were staying a week in Monmouth, Wales that was completely flooded out by storm Claudia I’d say change location, but I’ve seen nothing that shouts cancel the trip.
In the end it’s your choice.
Thank you for your reply.
Checking on “The weather channel” I see the forecast for the next ten days. It’s gonna be rainy in Porto the week starting November 24th. Porto is sunny but every day 25-40% chances of rain.
I try to check on Google, on YouTube, European weather channels. Everywhere shows flooding in Wales and Portugal but I hear only British accents. We have been in Spain last year, I do remember it’s was cold in the mornings and evenings. But this year because of the storm I am afraid they expect more rain. Don’t want to stuck at the hotel. Anyway thank you for your advice. I still have a week. I just need to purchase an insurance and wait a couple more days.
The Weather Channel is pretty unreliable for Europe, IMO. Try Accuweather or IPMA (Portuguese Maritime Weather) for better, but still not perfect forecasts.
Yes, Claudia is gone and any flooding was brief and very localized. November in most of Europe is getting cooler with shorter days and rain (or snow further north). The good news is the numbers of tourists are down, at least some. And, the sunny days are really wonderful.
For the last month I was researching the places of interest and sightseeings. This last few days I became a meteorologist. A lot of flooding videos on YouTube but people commented that they are fake. That’s why I asked the audience.
Anyway thank you for your reply
