Weather in Evora / inland Portugal - how to dress

I'll be in Evora area for a week in two weeks. The weather reports have been showing highs in the 90s-100s.. which seem pretty warm and yet the lows are quite low in the 50s. I'd like to know how to appropriately pack for such weather. Due to the big flux between day/night temps, it appears that dressing in layers would be wise. How about sun protection? Is it dry heat or high humidity?

Thanks much!

I am off to the Algarve tomorrow, so I have been looking at the forecast there. Portugal is having a mini heatwave at the moment, with above seasonal average temperatures so it may well cool down to the norm by the time you go.

Go for layers. At this time of year, it is usually cool in the evening and you will need a jumper or fleece for the evenings. It will probably not be warm enough to eat outside in the evenings.

In Europe, we use centigrade not farenheit, so get used to reading the forecasts in centigrade.

Sun tan lotion is often expensive and not that widely available in Portugal other than their local brands. I have not sought any in Evora so cannot comment on there, but I am taking enough for the whole holiday with me.

We were just in Portugal a week ago, and stayed 3 nights in Evora. It is dry there, and does cool down in the evenings. We needed sweaters each night, but did eat outside some nights. It also didn't always warm up until mid-day there, so light pants are quite appropriate. Lots of hills so don't forget your sensible shoes. I suspect however it might be warmer still in two weeks, as that area really does get hot in the summer.
