Recall watching beautiful sunrises at praia Dona Ana in Sept 2018 but not sunsets.

I have been to the Algarve numerous times and rarely experienced a colourful sunset there. Lagos faces east, so to experience the sun setting over the sea, best head to Sagres, Carrapateira or anywhere else on the west coast.
