Hi, I am interested in coming to Portugal in April, and we are considering a self-guided walking tour of Costa Vicentina. Do you have suggestions for walks that might be better? We are thinking about seven or eight nights in Portugal. We like to hike from village to village and enjoy beautiful views. We also like to enjoy good food and wine. Some of our favorites are Cinque Terra and Almafi coast hikes so we are wondering if Costa Vicentina would be comparable. A lot of our vacations revolve around hiking and I always plan them myself but, this time, I feel like a self-guided tour might be nice. Have any of you used Inntravel before? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
We found trail wayfinding challenging in some parts of Portugal. Purchase a really good map (we didn't really have time to go map hunting - we were just doing day hikes). There are lots of online resources as well - especially for the area along the southwestern coast specifically the Rota Vincenta - the website linked below is excellent and if I had had more time and flexibility I would have definitely focused here.
We found this area of Portugal to be beautiful. Next trip to Portugal I will do a couple of hikes in this area.
Enjoy!
Amy
Hello there,
These two walks may suit:
Rota Vicentina – the Fisherman’s trail
I have done walks with this company and have never been disappointed, the above two walks are still in my bucket list
Happy walking
