walk from Belem to cruise terminal?

We will visit Lisbon next week via cruise ship. Our port is Alcantara . I have learned that tram 15 will take us to Jeronimos monistary and then it is a short walk to Belem tower.. From Belem is it a reasonable walk to return to the cruise terminal?

Thanks

The short answer is yes, I think that is about a 2 km walk, maybe a little less. Nice level ground all the way. I suggest stopping in to check out the electrical museum on way.

I agree with the first reply. Since our port was Santa Apolonia, it would NOT have been walkable. So make sure they don't change the port on you. I imagine it will be printed on your paperwork when it comes.

Edit: To put that another way, a cruise ticket is not a binding promise to deliver you to a particular city on any particular day. One time in Central America, our ship-tour bus came back late, and the boat had moved to a different dock to free up the one we got off at. Think about that when you save money on a non-ship day tour ...

Thanks for the help! Looking forward to Portugal. It seems like it may be a good place to spend additional time!

I said it is about two kilometers from Belem to Alcantara, but I took a closer look yesterday and it is probably closer to 3. It took 3 minutes to make the trip by commuter train, and that averages about 1 km per minute. With your back to the cathedral in Belem (Jeronimos) you will be facing the river, with downtown Lisbon to your left. Walk toward the river and turn left when you get to the main road. Walk toward downtown to the pedestrian bridge. Cross the road and train tracks on the bridge, and then head toward downtown. It is a flat walk from there to Alcantara. Along the way to can visit the electrical museum. The Oriental Museum in Alcantara is very interesting.
