We are visiting the country ending up in Obidas on June 9 through 11 before returning to the US on the 12th. Since June 10th is a public holiday, I’m assuming many things will be closed but hoping restaurants and some sights and retail will be open. Any one have insights into what it’s like to be visiting on a public holiday and this one in particular?
Very little will be closed - unless you need to go to the bank or post office. All the museums, restaurants, etc. will be open. Public office employees have the day off and it’s getting close to Sao Antonio day in Lisbon so there may be celebrations leading up to that. But, no worries about being here on those days.
Thank you! Good to know.
I question the prior responder, mainly because Portugal Day, June 10th, is also on a Monday and I’m reading that many sites are closed every Monday.. Check out Pena Palace for that day though, as it looks like they remain open.
